THE SPECTRA OF INTESTINAL PARASITIC INFECTIONS AFFECTING PATIENTS ATTENDING A TERTIARY CARE CENTER IN WESTERN UTTAR PRADESH

Objective: Intestinal parasitic infection is a burgeoning health issue, especially in developing countries owing to low socioeconomic conditions, poor sanitation, personal hygiene, and lack of access potable drinking water. This study aims determine the prevalence different intestinal parasites among patients.
 Methods: cross-sectional was conducted 470 patients attending our hospital from October 2018 September 2019. Specimens were collected examined macroscopically microscopically using concentration methods modified Ziehl–Neelsen staining for coccidian parasites.
 Results: Out patients, infections 4.89%. The helminthic more common (52.17%), which topped by Hookworm (26.09%) followed Ascariasis (13.04%). Among protozoa, Giardia lamblia most common, Entamoeba histolytica (17.39%). female (5.62%) than male (4.19%) highest pediatric age group between 51 60 years.
 Conclusion: decreasing due increasing awareness about effects open defecation, safe water, hygiene. However, need intervallic monitoring necessary.
